Roopkund lake is situated at an altitude of 4450mts. in the lap of trishul massif in the interior of the chamoli district of Garhwal in Uttaranchal. Roopkund is famous for the mysterious shallow lake of about 2mts., With edges covered with snow almost throughout the year. After the snow melts, they say the human skeleton remains,which are believed to be 500-600 year old, many theories explain the findings but none seem satisfying. The lake is nestled amidst panorama mountain scenery.
However, the journey to Roopkund is an enjoyable experience. All along the way one os surrounded by mountain ranges from all the sides.
Bedni Budni Bugyal - Bagubassa Bagua means flowery park and Basa means place. And rightly the place was full of variety of flowers including the rare Brahma Kamal, a special godly lotus found at only and between the altitudes of 14000 – 15000 ft. Considered amongst the finest high altitude grasslands in the Garhwal mountains - offering you a splendid view of the Greater Himalayan range. Bedni bugyal and Bhagwawasa are the most beautiful places in this trek.
Panchprayag confluence of the most sacred rivers, is considered the epitome of immortal piety. Five prayags are Vishnuprayag, Nandprayag, Karnaprayag,Rudraprayag & deoprayag.
Itinerary:-
Day 1:- 17 June 2014 New Delhi to Old Delhi transfer by Taxi. . Refreshing at hotel. Overnight journey to Kathgodam.
Day 2:- 18 June 2014 Arrival at Kathgodam, proceed to Lohajung (180 Km) by bus / Jeep via Baijnath Temple. Evening Bag pack for next day Trek.
Day 3:- 19 June 2014 Lohajung to Wan by Jeep / Trek 12 km.
Day 4:- 20 June 2014 Wan to Bedni Bugyal 3354 Mts / Trek 12 km.
Day 5:- 21 June 2014 Bedni Bugyal to Bagubasa 4100 Mtr / Trek 12 km.
Day 6:- 22 June 2014 Bagubasa to Roopkund 4778 Mts /5 km & return to Bagubasa 5km trek.
Day 7:- 23 June 2014 Bagubasa to Bedni Bugyal 12 km Trek.
Day 8:- 24 June 2014 Bedni Bugyal to Ali Bugual-Didina.
Day 9:- 25 June 2014 Arrival Didina to Lohajung – Gwaldam.
Day 10:- 26 June 2014 Gwaldam to Kathgodam Railway Station.
Cost Per Person: Rs.12000/-(Ex Kathgodam ) + Railway Fare Mumbai - Delhi – Kathgodam & return.
